My background is in cinematography for film and video. Cinematography is about the marriage of motion and light. Sometime ago I took a still camera and began to play with a photographic technique that combines subtle camera movements with long exposure times to create an abstract, painterly effect. My favorite subjects became the forests close to where I live, places of extraordinary evolving color and transforming illumination. Foresta Luce is the product of those walks in the woods.
